Author talk with Frank Doble on ‘The Art of Inquiry’ and Capt. Elisha Dexter and the Twin Disasters of October 21, 1841

September 27, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Frank Doble, local author, mariner and librarian, will illustrate what he means by “the ART of inquiry”, in his new book by that title, and why we might want to know more about this art.

Doble will talk about the “white squall” that sank Capt. Dexter’s ship and another catastrophe that happened on the very same day. Dive into a piece of Holmes Hole maritime history and learn how to exercise an ancient art.

Part of our 6th annual Maritime Month in honor of Gordon Goodwin and his family’s maritime heritage.
