The library will be closed Saturday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day. We will be opened our usual hours Friday, November 10th from 10AM-5PM.
It’s getting spooky in the Children’s Room! Saturday November 4th from 10-11:30am, kids and their families can tour our spooky tunnel, play frightful games, and make a ghostly craft.
A great reason to wear those costumes one more time.
The Library will be opening late this Wednesday October 25th to accommodate staff training. Amended hours that day will be from 1 pm to 5 pm. Thank you for your understanding.
Fossil Day on Thursday October 12th 4 pm- 7:45 pm, is a FREE drop-in and mingle event, open to all ages. Bring your own fossils to share with others or to ask the experts about. Don’t have any fossils? Come enjoy what others bring and listen to the experts as they present. Families and students are encouraged to attend and explore the science of Paleontology! Event is brought to you by a partnership between MPRI, the Oak Bluffs Public Library and the National Park Service. When: Thursday October 12th, 4 pm- 7:45 pm . Where: Oak Bluffs Public Library. Who: EVERYONE!
Saturday, Septmber 30th the Coast Guard is bringing a boat to the library to teach children and their families about boats and boat safety from 10:30-12:30. For older children, there will be a soap “scrimshaw” craft in the program room from 10-11:30. Younger ones are welcome to do our maritime scavenger hunt all day long! Sure to be a boatload of fun for the entire family.
Children and families join us Saturday, September 16th at 10:30 for a book talk and activity with children’s author David Cundy.
Kids and families join us, Saturday September 2nd at 2pm, for a reading and talk with Veronica N. Chapman, author of the children’s picture book I Know I Can!
Saturday, August 26th from 10-11:30 families are welcome to bring kids of all ages to our Lego Block Party! Play games and build with all sorts of blocks.
Saturday, August 12th from 10-11:30, join us in the Children and Teen Rooms for our Building Bazaar. Families can play games, kids can build with recyclables, and teens can take part in a construction challenge. Sure to be fun for the entire family.
