Celebrate the beauty, mystery, and majesty of the sea through poetry!

Poems must be inspired by the sea, the coast, ocean life, or nautical adventures. Judging will be based on theme, creativity and overall impact. Original work only.
Age Categories:
- Children (Up to 11): $25 prize
- Teens (12–18): $50 prize
- Adults (Over 18) : $100 prize

One submission per person.
Judging will take place in coordination with the Martha’s Vineyard Poet Laureate, Claudia Taylor, and winning entries will be announced at the Poetry Reading taking place on May 8, 2025 at 6pm. Winning poets in attendance for each category will be invited to read their own poem, else the Poet Laureate will read it aloud to the audience.
This competition is funded by the Gordon Goodwin Memorial Fund facilitated by the Library Friends of Oak Bluffs.
