When selecting his bird portraits for printing, Lanny chooses images that he feels will not lose vitality over time, images that will engage the viewer aesthetically and emotionally and spiritually. “Symmetry is a very strong force acting on our perceptions,” he says. “You may find yourself devising narratives about what is going on in each ‘Double Take’.”
