Summer of Drawing 2021 with Elizabeth Whelan

Martha’s Vineyard artist Elizabeth R Whelan fills your early spring with art. Join us every Sunday at 11AM, via Zoom, to revisit sessions from the Summer of Drawing or join along for the first time.

Classes will be re-run until May 22nd.

This is a free series of drawing classes with emphasis on techniques and demonstrations. There are opportunities to draw along with Elizabeth as well as projects you can do on your own. As always, there is no need to show your work! No matter your skill level, feel comfortable taking part and trying new approaches.

Topics will be addressed for 2 weeks in a row, allowing Elizabeth to go in-depth and follow-up on questions you might have. There’s no need to buy supplies, most techniques can be applied to all drawing media so you can draw along for the entire series with just pencil and paper, or whatever you have on hand.

Line up is as follows:

April 3rd and 10th  Mixed Media: abstraction in drawing

April 17th and 24th  Colored Pencil: drawing beautiful plants and fruit

May 1st and 8th  All drawing media: drawing folds, drawing animals

May 15th and 22nd All drawing media: working from memory and imagination
