Free Legal Assistance – Harvard Legal Services Center
July 6, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Come to this outreach event with Sam Lowry, a Student Advocate at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School to learn about free legal services. The Center offers free legal assistance for veterans and low-moderate income individuals, but this event is open to the public and free for anyone to attend, even if you don’t qualify for services.
The event is hybrid and can be attended in person or online. In person attendees will enjoy refreshments at the beginning of the presentation. Bring your questions! In person meetings or scheduled intakes can be set up at this event.
Staff at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School will provide advice and referral information to community members about civil legal issues including but not limited to: housing law and tenants’ rights, disability rights, Social Security and public benefits such as SNAP, veterans benefits and military record corrections, divorce, custody and child support questions, LGBTQ+ related concerns, tax issues, consumer loan and small claims court problems, and criminal record sealing or expungement.

This summer, he is focusing on outreach to the Cape and Islands to inform more Massachusetts residents of the free legal services available to them. Originally from Michigan, Sam came to Massachusetts to attend Harvard College where he is a rising senior.
Sam will be joined “virtually” by Julie McCormack, also from Harvard Law School.
