An exciting evening of Vineyard authors in conversation! Local writers Emily Cavanagh and Mathea Morais talk about their books, their writing styles, and anything else that comes up. Followed by q&a from the audience.

Emily Cavanagh is a writer and teacher. She is the author of HER GUILTY SECRET and EVERYBODY LIES (recently released with Bookouture), THE BLOOM GIRLS, and THIS BRIGHT BEAUTY (Lake Union Publishing). Her work has been published in Grain Magazine, Transfer, The Vineyard Gazette, and Martha’s Vineyard Arts and Ideas among other online and print publications. Emily lives on the island of Martha’s Vineyard with her husband and their two daughters. 

Mathea Morais was raised in St. Louis, MO. She has a degree in Literature from NYU and worked in music journalism for many years. Her work has appeared in “The New Engagement,” “Slush Pile Magazine,” “Arts & Ideas,” and “Anti-Heroin Chic.” She is the Director of the Noepe Center for Literary Arts on Martha’s Vineyard and has taught creative writing to children and young adults for over fifteen years. She lives with her husband, her three daughters and a beloved dog.
