On the shallow surface of everyday life there is a paradox of drudgery and divinity. As the course of my life has shifted towards traditional roles of womanhood I strain to find beauty in the burdens of cleanliness, timeliness, and patience. My body has become secondary to my acts of service for my family and home. In the quiet moments of reflection I look back to the saccharine haze of nostalgia and stir it into the brew of all my thoughts, tasks, and inspirations throughout the day. Through my art making, I reconcile the often contrasting facets of my ever changing existence. Within each of these paintings is a memory, idol, fear, joke, sigh, pain, or everything all at once.
