Dinosaur Party!!!!

The Oak Bluffs Public Library is proud to announce its newest and most prehistoric addition: “Tacki,” a mounted Psittacosaurus skeleton, is going to be on public display at the library. The installation also includes dinosaur coprolite (fossilized dinosaur poop!). Join us for a dinosaur reveal party on Saturday, March 28th from 10am to 12pm in the Children’s Department!

In addition to seeing this exciting installation, our Dinosaur Party with Tacki will have many activities and games. There will be a cave and while kids crawl through, they will look for 5 different skeleton bones.  Another activity is to make your own ‘fossil’ with self drying clay. Other games and activities include: feed the dinosaur, dinosaur egg spoon race, make your own dinosaur with skeleton bones, and pin the tail on the dinosaur.

This display at Oak Bluffs Public Library is made possible by the generous donation of Dr. Charles Shabica, P.G. and the collaborative efforts of members of the Martha’s Vineyard Geological Society (MVGS).
