Jennifer Smith Turner is an award-winning author and poet. Her debut novel, Child Bride, received
numerous literary awards including the Sarton Women’s Book Award for Historical Fiction and Best Ebook
in 2020 by the Black Caucus of American Library Association. She is the author of two poetry books; Lost
and Found, Rhyming Verse Honoring African American Heroes; and Perennial Secrets, Poetry &
Prose which was nominated for the 2004 Connecticut Book Awards.
