Joan Glodis Art Opening

Art opening and tribute to the late artist Joan Glodis. Refreshments served.

Joan has always been an avid craftsperson. Eggery, Miniatures, Sewing are but a few. However, Quilting was the main focus of her later years. She started quilting a block of the month from a cape quilt shop with a good friend and never looked back. Fabric, fabric, fabric was all she wanted so she could create ever more complex quilts. She embraced new techniques incorporating them in her quilt making. Her favorite was Applique, and she would generously share her knowledge of this technique and others giving workshops at quilt guilds and demonstration at shows. Many of her quilts have received ribbons for their excellence in workmanship and creativity at the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair and in Wilson N. C. quilt shows. Here are but a small representation of Joan’s work.
