MVICW Samantha Tetangco: Poetry Writing Workshop

July 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

“Poetic Justice” – Samantha Tetangco

In this workshop, we will explore how poetry can bring awareness to political and environmental issues that impact our lives on a personal, local, and global scale. We will draw on individual experience, mindful observation, and research as creative source materials. Together, we will engage in exercises that will help deepen our writing practice and engage with the darker content of the world.

Samantha Tetangco is a Filipino-American writer and teacher.  Her short stories, creative nonfiction, and poetry have appeared or are forthcoming in dozens of literary magazines, most notably The Sun, Tri-Quarterly, Puerto del Sol, Zone 3, Gertrude and others.  She has an MFA from the University of New Mexico and is the Associate Director of Writing at the University of California Merced.  Learn more at https://samanthatetangco.ink
