In an effort to spread the word about our new website, logo, signage, and mission statement, we asked Library Mini Golf, a family-owned company to turn our two floors into an 18-hole golf course.
Friday night we hosted a party for 100 adults, with food prepared and donated by Park Corner and Skinny’s Fat Sandwiches, and beer and wine provided by Our Market. Saturday was free and open to the public all day, and 200 kids and parents came to play mini-golf. The kids had a ridiculous amount of fun, most playing the fan-favorite 12th hole over and over again.
The Library Friends of Oak Bluffs were the tournament sponsor, contributing $1,000 to finance the event. Other sponsors were B-Strong, Good Ship Lollipop, MV Shell Recovery, Phillips Hardware, Penworthy books, Shelley W. Brown, the Murphy Family, Hayes Design Studios, Eric Alexander, Michael Amaral, and an “Appreciative Out-of-Towner.” Our party wouldn’t have been a success if it hadn’t been for our sponsors, the Oak Bluffs Library staff, The Library Friends of Oak Bluffs, the Selectmen and Police Department, and the countless volunteers that dedicated their time and effort to making sure that no one swung their clubs too high, and that everyone had a blast.
