Islanders Read the Classics: Paul Karasik on Maus

West Tisbury resident Paul Karasik was associate editor of Art Spiegelman’s seminal comics magazine RAW, and has taught cartooning at SVA and RISD. His adaptation of Paul Auster’s novel City of Glass has been called “one of the 100 best comics of the 20th century” by The Comics Journal.
Art Spiegelman’s Maus, the tale of the author’s father surviving the Holocaust, was the first graphic novel to win a Pulitzer Prize.
