About Library Friends of Oak Bluffs

Founded in 1988, the Library Friends of Oak Bluffs (LFOB) is an all-volunteer organization of Martha’s Vineyard residents dedicated to helping the Oak Bluffs Public Library remain a vital public resource for residents and visitors.

Through tax-deductible donations and other fund-raising events, LFOB provides funding for Library programs, services, and collections that are not fully provided for in its taxpayer-supported budget.  LFOB sponsors activities at the Library, including children’s programs, lectures and presentations, seasonal and holiday activities, and the annual LFOB Summer Book Sale.

The Friends actively seek volunteers to serve on Committees, as Officers, and on the Board of Directors. LFOB encourages you to become involved with the Library Friends. To remain a vital force, the Friends always need Volunteers who can share their time, interests and skills. LFOB needs help with everything from sorting books to leading the Friends on the steering committee. For some ideas on how you can help, please take a look at our Volunteer Opportunities or our Donation page.

LFOB meetings are always open to the public. We value your support and hope you will consider becoming an active member.

You can donate by mailing a check in any amount to: Library Friends of Oak Bluffs, Inc., PO Box 1421, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557. You can also support us online using your credit card or your bank account by visiting our Donate page.
